PROTEAS star batsman Hashim Amla was ruled out of the second ODI against New Zealand at the De Beers Diamond Oval in Kimberley last night.
Amla sustained a strain to his right quad muscle during practice on Monday afternoon, which flared up overnight.
Proteas team manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee said: “Hashim sustained the strain in his right quad during warm-ups [on Monday] afternoon, but continued training without much hindrance. He woke up this morning with a severely stiff quad muscle and was withdrawn from the playing XI.”
