TONIGHT

• ECR’s Neville Pillay hots up the floor at Caf é Vacca Matta — the public event for “Being Erica — Blast to The Past 90’s Party” from 8 pm.

• Celtis and Mim Erasmus perform in Kloof at Bluestockings (formerly Luna Lounge Kloof) — 16 Dan Pienaar road, near Kloof High School — from 7.30 pm. Entrance is R60. High-energy Celtic dance meets the gentle flow of English folk song.

• Pig and Whistle presents Dancing in the Street (Hexagon Dive picnic evenings) at 7 pm for 7.30 pm. Bring food but no drinks. There is a cash bar. Tickets R65 per person. Bookings: e-mail hexagon@ukzn.ac.za or phone 033 260 5537.

• Pig Night at Murmur. Entrance is R30 and free spirits are from 8 pm to 9 pm and 11 pm to 1 am.

• Eddie Zondi from Metro FM hosts a ­ladies’ night, spinning old-school jams at Rivets at the Hilton, Durban. R60 entry, doors open at 7 pm.

• Party the night away with DJ Swys from 7 pm until late at the Kick ‘n Whistle. Drinks specials and free entrance. Secure parking is available. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

TOMORROW

• DJ Dizzy D, DJ Lyle D and DJ Jits ­perform the best of north and south Indian remixes at the Bhangra Fusion Party hosted at Rivets at the Hilton, Durban. R60 entry, doors open at 9 pm.

• The Kick ’n Whistle hosts Gerhard Britz from 7 pm until late with sixties, seventies and sokkie. Kitchen open for meals. There is secure parking behind the Woodburn Stadium.

 

SUNDAY

• Cliffy’s hosts Sunday afternoon acoustic sessions, featuring Exit the Fall (doing a rare acoustic performance), The Kickstands and Shannon Connolly with her new acoustic outfit, The Omega Connection. ­Entrance is R30, and food and drinks available. Inquiries: cliffys@telkomsa.net

• Mike from Marshall Music performs piano and keyboard favourites at the ­Nevada Spur at Cascades from 5.30 pm.

• The Olive Tree features music with ­Jammo out on the deck over lunch and through the afternoon. Enjoy laid-back ­listening over lunch or have a few drinks from the pool bar as the music gets more lively later on.

• Gerhard Britz performs at the Kick ’n Whistle (behind Woodburn Stadium). A three-course meal at R60 a head, and meals for children at a discount price, will be available. Entrance is free. Bookings for lunch is advised: 076 0744 726.

TUESDAY

• The Maritzburg Musicians’ Club, hosted at the Red Door, features a tribute to Mary Travers (Puff the Magic Dragon) by Brigid McNamara and Huyton Watts, as well as a stint by local evergreens the Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters. Entry is R20 and the evening starts at 8 pm.

 

WEDNESDAY

• Jammo continues his popular Wednesday night slot at the Nevada Spur at Cascades, with a wide selection of feel-good numbers from 5.30 pm onwards.

• At the Stagecoach every Wednesday is open mic night with Brett Cox. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.
